Throughout her professional career, Daisy has demonstrated a consistent commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals, strengthening families, and advancing fairness within Hawaiʻi’s justice and social services systems. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed practices, ensuring that interactions with children, families, and kupuna are approached with care, cultural sensitivity, and an understanding of the long-term impacts of trauma.

In this next chapter of public service, Daisy will draw from her education, personal life experiences, and on her extensive legal and executive experience to advocate for social justice and effective, accountable systems, to better serve Hawaiʻi’s communities and its residents.

Daisy brings a deep understanding of the challenges facing the state’s most vulnerable populations and is prepared to offer thoughtful, informed perspectives on key issues during the upcoming legislative session. She is ready to collaborate to get things done and will be an accessible legislator. She is prepared to consider laws that will ease the burden to meet the daily needs of Hawaii residents, listen to ways to better support small business and boost the economy, work to protect Hawaii’s natural resources, and find strategies to invest in the future of Hawaii while honoring the values of Hawaii’s host culture.

Daisy has more than twenty years of distinguished public service to her appointment. Her public service career spans a wide range of roles dedicated to public safety, justice, and social services.

As solo attorney, Daisy was appointed and served as Grand Jury Counsel, served as Guardian Ad Litem for children and adults, and represented clients in criminal, civil, and family law matters. Recently, she contributed her time and expertise through volunteer efforts supporting a community-based program that assisted residents with the expungement of eligible criminal records and the recall of outstanding bench warrants.
