URGING PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE STATE OF HAWAII TO OBSERVE A DAILY MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR THE SOLDIERS DEFENDING THE VALUES AND BELIEFS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
WHEREAS, the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 claimed thousands of American lives and brought despair to thousands more; and
WHEREAS, many more lives were lost in a valiant attempt to rescue victims from the World Trade Center; and
WHEREAS, among the victims who lost their lives due to the terrorist attacks were sons and daughters of the State of Hawaii; and

WHEREAS, civilians will be supportive of our military only so long as they remain vigilant and regularly reminded about those fighting the ongoing war; now, therefore,
