The purpose of this informational briefing is to learn from experts about the current regulatory framework and industry trends in Hawai'i for medical cannabis and hemp, as well as best practices for managing these industries that protect public safety and public health, and support a viable and well-regulated industry that successfully attracts consumers and suppliers away from the illegal and unregulated market. The briefing will also address the need for a robust public health campaign to prevent cannabis use by those under 21 and prevent impaired drivers from operating a vehicle while under the influence of cannabis.
