The purpose of this informational briefing is to understand how Hawaii's current pretrial systems work – who is involved in the decision making and what are the various possibilities for arrested individuals. The briefing will also address the national landscape and how other states and jurisdictions are reforming their pretrial systems. It will also highlight the need for victim rights groups to have a voice in shaping any reforms.
