This informational briefing will provide an update to the committee on the status and functioning of Hawaii's Deposit Beverage Container Program or the "HI 5" program from the Department of Health Solid Waste Division. There will also be a presentation from the Container Recycling Institute to contextualize Hawaii's program in the national landscape and learn about policy approaches in other states, as well as from the Return-It system, an innovative deposit return system from Vancouver, Canada.
No public testimony will be accepted.
