The House Committee on Consumer Protection & Commerce and the Senate Committee on Commerce & Consumer Protection will hold an informational briefing on the Hawaii Hurricane Relief Fund (HHRF). Representatives from the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) Insurance Division, the Hawaii Property Insurance Association (HPIA), and the HHRF will provide an update to the committees and the public. The briefing will also cover the status of Act 296 (2025), which addresses the stabilization of the property insurance market and helps ensure coverage is available when the private market falls short.
In addition, the committees will be provided with an update on the state of flood insurance coverage in Hawaii.
