Your Committee on Tourism, to which was referred H.R. No. 47 entitled:

"HOUSE RESOLUTION URGING THE HAWAII TOURISM AUTHORITY TO ADD A STIPULATION TO ITS SIGNATURE EVENT PROGRAM TO REQUIRE THIRTY PERCENT OF FUNDS AWARDED THROUGH THE PROGRAM TO BE USED TO MARKET EVENTS TO OUT-OF-STATE MARKETS,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to urge the Hawaii Tourism Authority to add a stipulation to its signature event program to require thirty percent of funds awarded through the program to be used to market events to out-of-state markets.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from one individual. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Tourism that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.R. No. 47 and recommends that it be referred to your Committee on Finance.
