"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM-EDUCATION PROGRAM,"

The purpose of this measure is to appropriate funds to the University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resilience and Department of Health to continue their implementation of the Hawaii Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program–Education Program.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Department of Health; Executive Office on Early Learning; Office of Climate Change, Sustainability and Resiliency of the City and County of Honolulu; Hawaiʻi Public Health Institute; Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi; Hawaiʻi Children's Action Network Speaks!; Hawaiʻi Food+ Policy; Aloha United Way; Hawaiʻi Appleseed Center for Law & Economic Justice; Hawaiʻi Hunger Action Network; Hawaii Food Industry Association; and six individuals. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the University of Hawaiʻi System and Executive Office on Aging.
