Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred H.B. No. 1842, H.D. 2, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO GOVERNMENT,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to amend Act 289, Session Laws of Hawaii 2025, by:

(1) Replacing the Senior Residence at Iwilei parcel with the Westridge parcel;

(2) Adjusting the transfer date for the Alii Tower parcel to December 31, 2026;

(3) Extending the transfer approval deadline by the City and County of Honolulu to December 31, 2027; and

(4) Extending the repeal date to January 1, 2028.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Department of Accounting and General Services. Your Committee received testimony in opposition to this measure from the Department of Land and Natural Resources. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Office of the Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu and HONCRE1 LLC.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 1842, H.D. 2, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
