Honolulu, Hawaii
RE: GOV. MSG. NO. 720
Honorable Ronald D. Kouchi
President of the Senate
Thirty-Third State Legislature
Regular Session of 2026
State of Hawaii
Sir:
Your Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 720, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of:
State Boxing Commission of Hawaii
|
G.M. No. 720 |
ROBYN JUMAWAN for a term to expire 06-30-2030, |
begs leave to report as follows:
Your Committee reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by Robyn Jumawan for service on the State Boxing Commission of Hawaii.
Your Committee received testimony in support of the nomination for the reappointment of Robyn Jumawan from the State Boxing Commission of Hawaii and three individuals.
Upon review of the testimony, your Committee finds that Ms. Jumawan's experience, knowledge, and leadership on the State Boxing Commission of Hawaii qualify her for reappointment to the Commission as a member representing Boxing USA, Inc. Your Committee notes that Ms. Jumawan has been Vice President and Marketing Specialist at PearlSide Boxing, Inc. for its nonprofit, charitable programs since 2007, where she is responsible for marketing, customer service, and coaching, as well as acting as a supervisor at USA Boxing sanctioned events. Ms. Jumawan is currently an active member and previously served as Vice President, Chief of Officials, and Registration Chair of USA Boxing Hawaii. Your Committee further notes that Ms. Jumawan has been a member of USA Boxing since 2008 and has served on the State Boxing Commission of Hawaii since 2023. Your Committee finds that Ms. Jumawan's extensive background in boxing administration and governance will continue to contribute to the effectiveness of the State Boxing Commission of Hawaii. Your Committee therefore recommends that Robyn Jumawan be reappointed to the State Boxing Commission of Hawaii based on her experience, knowledge, and commitment to public service.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection,
