STAND. COM. REP. NO. 3979
Honolulu, Hawaii
RE: GOV. MSG. NO. 688
Honorable Ronald D. Kouchi
President of the Senate
Thirty-Third State Legislature
Regular Session of 2026
State of Hawaii
Sir:
Your Committee on Health and Human Services, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 688, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of:
Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs
|
G.M. No. 688 |
RAELENE TENNO for a term to expire 06-30-2029, |
begs leave to report as follows:
Your Committee reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by Raelene Tenno for service on the Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs.
Your Committee received testimony in support of the nomination for the reappointment of Raelene Tenno from the Executive Office on Aging, Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs, Hawaiʻi Family Caregiver Coalition, and three individuals.
Upon review of the testimony, your Committee finds that Ms. Tenno's background and dedication to serving the public qualify her to be reappointed to the Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs as a member from the City and County of Honolulu with interests and knowledge in, and ability to, contribute to the solution of problems relating to aging. Your Committee notes that Ms. Tenno has been a mortgage loan originator for over two decades, including over a decade as a mortgage loan instructor. Your Committee notes that Ms. Tenno has served for thirty years on the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Council of Community Associations (HCCA), an organization that serves to educate condominium board members of their duties and responsibilities. At HCCA, Ms. Tenno also serves as the Education Program Chair, where she provides common interest communities such as condominiums, planned community associations, and cooperative housing corporations with important information related to aging in place. Your Committee further notes that Ms. Tenno has been serving on the Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs since 2021 and has a thorough understanding of the roles and responsibilities of its members. Your Committee finds that Ms. Tenno's experience and knowledge will continue to enhance the effectiveness of the Board. Your Committee therefore recommends that Raelene Tenno be reappointed to the Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs based on her experience, knowledge, and commitment to public service.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committee on Health and Human Services,
