Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred S.B. No. 2866, S.D. 1, H.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO KUPUNA HOUSING,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to:

(1) Make the State Rent Supplement Program for Kupuna permanent; and

(2) Appropriate funds to the Hawaii Public Housing Authority for the State Rent Supplement Program for Kupuna and for positions to support the program.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Executive Office on Aging; Hawaii Public Housing Authority; Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs; AARP Hawaiʻi; LeadingAge Pacific West; Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi; Aloha United Way; Navian Hawaii; and five individuals.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 2866, S.D. 1, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
