STAND. COM. REP. NO. 3789
Honolulu, Hawaii
RE: H.B. No. 1752
H.D. 1
S.D. 1
Honorable Ronald D. Kouchi
President of the Senate
Thirty-Third State Legislature
Regular Session of 2026
State of Hawaii
Sir:
Your Committee on Judiciary, to which was referred H.B. No. 1752, H.D. 1, S.D. 1, entitled:
"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES,"
begs leave to report as follows:
The purpose and intent of this measure is to replace the Adjutant General on the Hawaii Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee with the Administrator of the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency.
Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Department of Health and Department of Defense.
Your Committee finds that the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency is responsible for coordinating statewide emergency management, disaster response, and medical services during emergencies and disasters. By including the Administrator of the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency on the State Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee, this measure will improve coordination during disasters, streamline planning, and ensure that emergency medical services policies reflect the lessons learned from recent state emergencies.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Judiciary that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 1752, H.D. 1, S.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committee on Judiciary,
|
