A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to the department of health.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $2,500,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2026-2027 for the department of health to:

     (1)  Provide health care and related services for persons under the custody of the director of health who do not require hospital level of care; and

     (2)  Petition for assisted community treatment for persons under the custody of the director of health for whom the department of health has determined an assisted community treatment plan is appropriate.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of health for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2026.
