A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to feral chickens.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $200,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2026-2027 to facilitate the collection of feral chickens that have already been caught.  The appropriation shall be allocated as follows:

     (1)  $50,000 to the city and county of Honolulu;

     (2)  $50,000 to the county of Hawaii;

     (3)  $50,000 to the county of Kauai; and

     (4)  $50,000 to the county of Maui.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by each respective county for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2026.
