The public will not be allowed to be present as authorized under the “The Sunshine Law” for State and County Boards. The Commission has, after sufficient public deliberation at a prior regular meeting, determined by a vote of two-thirds of all voting members that the on-site inspection is necessary and public attendance is impracticable.
I. Tour of the Halawa Correctional Facility (HCF)
a. The Restrictive Housing Legislative Working Group has found it necessary to complete an on-site inspection of Halawa Correctional Facility, with special interest given to the Restrictive Housing Unit.
Submitting Testimony:
Written Testimony can be emailed to the Restrictive Housing Legislative Working Group at RHG@capitol.hawaii.gov or delivered in person or mailed to 415 South Beretania Street Rm. 217 Honolulu, HI 96813 prior to the meeting.
Meeting Materials and Other Information:
The Restrictive Housing Legislative Working Group Packet will be posted on https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/legislature/specialcommittee.aspx?comm=rhg&year=2025 at least three business days before the meeting, if applicable. Links to minutes, agendas, and meeting materials will also be available online.
