Status

RELATING TO CHILD CARE.

Codifies program modification requirements for demonstration projects established by child care facilities that are licensed by the Department of Human Services.

Status

RELATING TO CHILD CARE.

Establishes a child care classroom contracts pilot program to require the Department of Human Services to contract directly with child care in licensed infant and toddler and group child care centers that meet certain criteria.  Requires reports to the Legislature.  Appropriates funds for a position to support the pilot program.  Sunsets the pilot program on 6/30/2027.

HB 1964

Status

RELATING TO EARLY CHILD CARE.

Requires the Department of Human Services to establish and implement a child care provider subsidy and bonus program to provide subsidies to retain the existing child care workforce in licensed infant and toddler child care centers and group child care centers and bonuses to registered family child care homes.  Requires annual reports to the legislature.  Appropriates funds.

HB 2427

Status

RELATING TO THE PRESCHOOL OPEN DOORS PROGRAM.

Establishes that the priority of selection for program participation shall be applicable through the priority application period that occurs prior to the start of each program year.  Applications received after the start of the program year through January 31 will be processed continuously through the program year on a first-come, first-served basis.  Effective upon approval.

Status

RELATING TO THE HOUSEHOLD AND DEPENDENT CARE SERVICES TAX CREDIT.

Increases a taxpayer's applicable percentage of employment-related expenses that may be claimed for the household and dependent care services tax credit for five years.

RELATING TO TAXATION.

Establishes a refundable tax credit for nonpaid family caregivers.  Requires the Department of Taxation to report to the Legislature before the convening of each Regular Session.

RELATING TO FALL PREVENTION.

Appropriates funds to support the Department of Health's Senior Fall Prevention Campaign. Declares the general fund expenditure ceiling is exceeded.

HB 2722

Status

RELATING TO YOUTH FEES AND FINES.

Prohibits the assessment of any fines, fees, or court costs against a person who was adjudicated for an offense committed during the person's minority, or against the person's parent or guardian, and discharges all related debt obligations assessed prior to the effective date of the Act.  Requires the Office of the Administrative Director of the Courts to submit a report to the Legislature.

HB 2746

Status

RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY.

Requires and appropriate moneys for the provision of free voice communication services in the State's youth and adult correctional facilities.  Amends sources of funding for and imposes a limit on moneys retained in the victim information and notification system special fund.  Appropriates moneys into and out of the automated victim information and notification system special fund.  Declares that the appropriations exceed the state general fund expenditure ceiling for fiscal year 2024-2025.

Status

RELATING TO AUTISM.

Appropriates funds to increase the funding for applied behavioral analysis services for persons with autism.  Requires the Department of Human Services to obtain maximum federal matching funds and pursue all other funding sources.

Status

RELATING TO HEALTH.

Requires the Departments of Health, Human Services, and Education to research any rules, policies, and state plan amendments that are necessary to ensure that clinically appropriate treatments and services for individuals twenty-six years of age or younger with autism spectrum disorder or fetal alcohol spectrum disorder are considered covered benefits under the State's medicaid program.  Appropriates funds.

Status

RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES.

Appropriates moneys to the Department of Human Services for the Preschool Open Doors program.  Declares that the appropriation exceeds the general fund expenditure ceiling.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony received after this time will be stamped late and left to the discretion of the chair to consider.  While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may not be processed.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.

 

The chair may institute a per-testifier time limit.

 

Committees meeting in the morning must adjourn prior to the day's Floor Session.  Therefore, due to time constraints, not all testifiers may be provided an opportunity to offer verbal comments.  However, written submissions will be considered by the committee.

 

Please refrain from profanity or uncivil behavior.  Violations may result in ejection from the hearing without the ability to rejoin.

 

For remote testifiers, the House will not be responsible for bad connections on the testifier's end.
