Requires the Department of Agriculture to conduct a study on the requirements and restrictions related to the Department's dispositions of non-agricultural park lands.  Requires a report to the legislature.  Effective 7/1/3000.  (HD1)

RELATING TO CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD CHECKS.

Authorizes the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to search criminal histories and fingerprint records of current and prospective volunteers and purchase of service contracted and subcontracted service providers and their employees who are directly involved in providing correctional programs, treatment, and services to persons committed to a correctional facility or places them in close proximity to persons committed when providing services on behalf of the Department or the correctional facility.  Effective 7/1/3000.  (HD1)

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Requires the DOE to work with the BOE to create a public digital platform by the 2027-2028 school year that shows how schools are adopting high-quality instructional materials for K-12 English language arts.

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Requires all public schools to implement universal screenings for students in kindergarten through third grade to identify and support students who are at risk of dyslexia and other learning disabilities.  Effective 7/1/3000.  (HD1)

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Authorizes the Department of Health to require the Department of Education to report coronavirus disease 2019 potential outbreaks or other public health emergencies and related information in a manner most appropriate to public health and safety, as determined by the Department of Health.  Repeals the requirement to publish the report on the Department of Education's website.  Effective 7/1/3000.  (HD1)

RELATING TO EARLY LEARNING.

Exempts prekindergarten-only public charter schools from certain provisions affecting charter schools relating to funding and finance, the use of the weighted student formula, athletics, enrollment, computer science courses and content, and enrollment in industry-credential programs.  Effective 7/1/3000.  (HD1)

RELATING TO HEALTH.

Requires the Departments of Health, Human Services, and Education to research and make recommendations on any rules, policies, and amendments to the Medicaid State Plan or Medicaid 1915(c) Waiver that are necessary to ensure provision of clinically appropriate treatments and services for individuals twenty-six years of age or younger with autism spectrum disorder or fetal alcohol spectrum disorder are covered under certain Medicaid programs.  Appropriates funds.  Effective 7/1/3000.  (HD1)

RELATING TO SUMMER ELECTRONIC BENEFITS TRANSFER FOR CHILDREN PROGRAM.

Establishes the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer for Children Program.  Appropriates funds.  Effective 7/1/3000.  (HD1)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony received after this time will be stamped late and left to the discretion of the chair to consider.  While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may not be processed.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.

 

The chair may institute a per-testifier time limit.

 

Committees meeting in the morning must adjourn prior to the day's Floor Session.  Therefore, due to time constraints, not all testifiers may be provided an opportunity to offer verbal comments.  However, written submissions will be considered by the committee.

 

Please refrain from profanity or uncivil behavior.  Violations may result in ejection from the hearing without the ability to rejoin.

 

For remote testifiers, the House will not be responsible for bad connections on the testifier's end.
