SB 2082

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO THE LABELING OF PRODUCTS.

Merges the Made in Hawaii with Aloha branding program with the Hawaii Made program under the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism.  Specifies that the Department of the Attorney General shall be responsible for enforcement of the program.  Repeals the Made in Hawaii with Aloha program.  Clarifies that calculations to determine whether a non-perishable good labeled "Hawaii Made" or "made in Hawaii" has met the requirement that at least 51% of the wholesale value of the product is added by production within the State include operating and overhead expenses incurred and spent within the State.  Appropriates funds.

RELATING TO RENEWABLE ENERGY.

Authorizes independent generators of renewable energy to wheel the renewable energy transmitted and used to produce hydrogen, subject to certain conditions determined by the public utilities commission.

RELATING TO ONLINE PRIVACY FOR CHILDREN.

Requires a business that provides an online service, product, or feature likely to be accessed by children to comply with certain data privacy requirements.  Requires a business to complete a data protection impact assessment for any online service, product, or feature likely to be accessed by children and maintain documentation of the assessment as long as the online service, product, or feature is likely to be accessed by children.  Requires a business to make a data protection impact assessment available to the Attorney General pursuant to a written request and exempts a data protection impact assessment from public disclosure.  Prohibits a business that provides an online service, product, or feature likely to be accessed by children from taking certain proscribed actions.  Authorizes the Attorney General to seek an injunction or civil penalty against any business that violates certain provisions.  Creates the Hawaii Children's Data Protection Working Group.  Requires reports to the Legislature.

SB 2170

RELATING TO COMBAT SPORTS.

Establishes the Combat Sports Commission of Hawaii.  Provides for regulation of combat sports.  Prohibits no rules combat or similar contests.  Establishes the Combat Sports Commission Special Fund.  Makes appropriations.

SB 2505

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION.

Requires the Public Utilities Commission to establish reliability standards and interconnection requirements for the Hawaii electric system.  Establishes system resilience as a metric that is monitored and considered by the Commission.  Requires the Commission to collect the Hawaii electricity reliability surcharge and provides that the surcharge may be transferred to the Commission for the purpose of its duties.  Requires the Commission to contract for the performance of certain of its functions with a Hawaii Electricity Reliability Administrator.

SB 2993

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO CONSUMER PROTECTION.

Prohibits any operator, transient accommodations broker, or person from offering, listing, advertising, and displaying a rate that does not include all resort fees.  Requires all operators, transient accommodations brokers, and persons to include all taxes and fees imposed by a government on a transient accommodation.  Establish penalties.
