"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO SUMMER ELECTRONIC BENEFITS TRANSFER FOR CHILDREN PROGRAM,"

The purpose of this measure is to establish and appropriate funds for the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer for Children Program.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Office of the Governor; Department of Education; State Procurement Office; Hawaiʻi Public Health Institute's Healthy Eating + Active Living Coalition; Hawaiʻi Children's Action Network Speaks!; Hawaii Appleseed Center for Law & Economic Justice; Save Medicaid Hawaii; Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau; Chamber of Commerce Hawaii; Hawaiʻi Foodbank; Hawaii Food Industry Association; ABC Stores; and numerous individuals. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Department of Human Services.

Your Committee has amended this measure by changing the numbers of full-time equivalent program specialist positions to unspecified numbers.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 2430, H.D. 1, as amended herein, and recommends that it pass Third Reading in the form attached hereto as H.B. No. 2430, H.D. 2.
