A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to traffic control devices.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Chapter 291C, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"§291C-   Traffic control devices; speed limit signs; kilometers per hour; miles per hour. Beginning July 1, 2023, all speed limit signs newly installed or replaced by the department of transportation shall include the kilometers per hour in a distinct design, display, and color from the miles per hour shown."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2023.
