A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to composting.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $1,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the creation of a composting program to be operated and managed by the agribusiness development corporation at Pulehunui; provided that the county of Maui shall manage and operate the composting program in conjunction with the agribusiness development corporation; provided further that the agribusiness development corporation may collaborate with community partners, businesses, and other stakeholders to develop the composting program.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the agribusiness development corporation for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2024.
