HOUSE CONCURRENT

RESOLUTION

 

 

urging the hawaii housing finance and development corporation to develop a TEN-YEAR plan to satisfy hawaii's housing demand.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, Hawaii is experiencing a housing shortage; and

 

     WHEREAS, the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation's mission includes the provision of financing for housing and the development of housing; and

 

     WHEREAS, agencies such as the Hawaii Public Housing Authority are planning to develop a substantial number of homes over the next ten years; and

 

     WHEREAS, the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation should be at the forefront of proactively working to alleviate the State's housing shortage; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Thirty-second Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2024, the Senate concurring, that the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation is urged to develop a ten-year plan to satisfy Hawaii's housing demand; and

 

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation is requested to submit its ten-year plan to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2025; and

 

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation and Executive Director of the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation.
