A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Twenty-second REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $340,321,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the twenty-second representative district, as follows:
Construction and equipment and appurtenances for repair of leaking roof of the multi-purpose building.
Construction $5,000
Equipment $20,000
Total funding $25,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
2. Hokulani elementary school
Construction and equipment and appurtenances for repavement of the parking lot and driveway.
Construction $5,000
Equipment $30,000
Total funding $35,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
3. Hokulani elementary school
Plans, design, construction, and equipment and appurtenances for installation of an elevator for ADA compliance and library access.

Total funding $55,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
4. Manoa elementary school
Plans, design, construction, and equipment and appurtenances for security fencing around the school perimeter.

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
5. Manoa elementary school
Plans, design, construction, and equipment and appurtenances for the communication system upgrade.

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
6. Noelani elementary
Plans, design, and construction for covered walkways to all portable classroooms.

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.

Plans, design, and construction for repairs to covered playcourt (I-beams, bird net, and building sliding).

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
8. University of Hawaii
Plans, design, construction, and equipment and appurtenances for two new student housing towers at the Hale Noelani site.

Total funding $335,000,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2026, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2024.
