A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to BUSINESS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Chapter 482, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part I to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"§482- Trade names, trademarks, and service marks related to a federally declared disaster. (a) No trade name, trademark, or service mark registration that relates or refers to a federally declared disaster shall be approved within ninety days of the disaster.

(b) As used in this section, "federally declared disaster" has the same meaning as defined in title 26 United States Code section 165."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
