A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO THE HAWAII TOURISM AUTHORITY.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 201B-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (c) to read as follows:

     "(c)  Members shall be appointed by the governor for terms of four years; provided that membership on the board shall not exceed eight consecutive years; provided further that each member shall hold office until the member's successor is appointed [and qualified]."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 3000.

Description:

Clarifies that a member of the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Tourism Authority shall hold office as a holdover until a successor is appointed by the Governor and repeals the successor's requirement for Senate confirmation.  Effective 7/1/3000.  (HD1)
