A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to capital improvement projects for schools in the thirty-ninth representative district.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2023-2024:

1. Honowai elementary school, Oahu

Americans with Disabilities Act Improvements for elevators; equipment and appurtenances; design and construction for covered, multipurpose spaces for learning and dining; covered walkways connecting buildings to the cafeteria; related refurbishments, repairs, renovations; ground and site improvements.

Design $50,000

Construction $6,750,000

Total funding $6,800,000

2. Kaleiopuu elementary school, Oahu

Design and construction of new classroom building; ground site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

Design $700,000

Construction $25,000,000

Total funding $25,700,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2023.
