      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO TELECOMMUNICATION.

Requires the Office of Enterprise Technology Services to establish a working group to conduct a study to identify state office buildings that can provide equitable telecommunication access to allow certain residents, including residents with disabilities, to participate remotely in legislative hearings.  Requires a report to the Legislature.  Dissolves the working group on 6/30/2024.

RELATING TO PAID SICK LEAVE.

Requires employers to provide a minimum amount of paid sick leave to employees to be used to care for themselves or a family member who is ill or needs medical care and supplemental paid sick leave to employees under certain public health emergency conditions.

RELATING TO IMMIGRANT SERVICES.

Establishes and appropriates moneys for an immigrant services and access unit within the Office of Community Services.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO STATE EMPLOYEES.

Requires the State to defend professionally licensed or certified state employees from civil actions when the employee was acting within the scope of their employment and was not grossly negligent or wanton.  Requires that if the State refuses to defend a state or county employee from civil actions on certain grounds, that the State file a motion to be heard with the court.

SB 787

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM.

Authorizes a court to order the forfeiture of all of the Employees' Retirement System (ERS) benefits of an ERS member, former member, or retirant upon conviction of the individual for a felony related to the State or county employment of the individual.  Prohibits designated beneficiaries convicted of a felony under the same set of circumstances as the member, former member, or retirant who was subject to forfeiture of ERS benefits from receiving benefits.

RELATING TO TELEWORK.

Establishes a temporary Telework Working Group.  Requires interim and final reports to the Legislature.  Makes an appropriation.
