RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Requires DOE to develop and implement safety training for all cafeteria student helpers and ensure the student helpers receive the training prior to them volunteering.  Requires DOE to provide personal protective equipment for all cafeteria student helpers prior to the student helpers volunteering.  Requires all cafeteria student helpers to be directed and supervised by trained personnel at all times.  Effective 6/30/3000.  (HD1)

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Adopts the National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standard.  Requires the department of education to obtain instructional materials in accessible formats for eligible students.  Effective 7/1/3000.  (HD1)

RELATING TO EDUCATIONAL HEALTH SERVICES.

Replaces the term "school health aides" with "school health assistants" to reflect recent changes to the job title.  Allows the administration of medication to public school students by school health assistants with the approval of a health care professional within the department of education, the department of health, or a health care service pursuant to a written agreement with the department of education.  Effective 6/30/3000.  (HD2)

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Requires the department of education to work with certain organizations to develop and implement an active shooter training program in all public schools under the jurisdiction of the department.  Exempts public school students from participation in an active shooter training program of the department of education.  Effective 6/30/3000.  (HD1)

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Requires the department of education to establish grant programs to provide funds for the planning and implementation of community schools.  Effective 6/30/3000.  (HD1)
