The Committee will meet to continue the hearing started on Monday, January 30, 2023 on the measures listed below. The committee was unable to complete the hearing on Monday due to time constraints. Additional testimony will not be accepted.
RELATING TO MEAT AND POULTRY INSPECTION. Requires the Department of Agriculture to establish, implement, and administer a meat and poultry inspection program. Appropriates funds for the establishment, implementation, and administration of the program.

RELATING TO CONSUMER PROTECTION. Requires self-service stations to put labels on gas dispensing equipment that advise consumers on the effects of fossil fuel consumption to human health and the environment.

RELATING TO AQUACULTURE. Requires the Animal Industry Division of the Department of Agriculture to administer an assessment and approval process to import and move aquatic livestock in the State. Requires the Animal Industry Division to develop a risk-based framework for the aquatic livestock assessment and approval process and to undertake certain activities to develop and expand the aquaculture industry. Defines aquatic biorisk, aquatic livestock, and biocontainment.
