     Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred H.B. No. 1129, H.D. 1, entitled:

 

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO INCARCERATED WOMEN,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this measure is to appropriate funds as a grant to the Hawaii Friends of Restorative Justice for the education and reentry program for incarcerated women.

 

     Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the University of Hawaii System, University of Hawaii Thompson School of Social Work and Public Health, Department of Public Safety, Department of Education, Hawaii Friends of Restorative Justice, Community Alliance on Prisons, Women's Prison Project, and six individuals.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 1129, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
