A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Relating to agricultural development.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $           or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2023-2024 as a grant-in-aid to the county of Hawaii for the support of the Village, a diversified agricultural park, community, and learning center that aids in the development of a sustainable and secure agricultural industry in the State by growing and producing food for local consumption and exports, providing RTE meals for the military and department of education, and housing and training families and individuals that show an interest in sustainable agriculture and food security farming; provided that no funds shall be expended unless matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis from either private or other government resources.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the county of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2023.
