A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to organizations supporting public education.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to require organizations supporting the university of Hawaii and the department of education to obtain written permission to use the name of the school in connection with the school support organization.

     SECTION 2.  (a)  Each school support organization established to support the university of Hawaii or the department of education shall be required to obtain a written permit to use the school's name in connection with the school support organization.

     (b)  Each school support organization shall obtain a permit from the chancellor for the University of Hawaii or the department of education school's principal, as applicable.  The permit shall be revocable at the discretion of the chancellor or principal.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
