"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO IMMIGRANT SERVICES,"

The purpose of this measure is to establish and appropriate funds for an Immigrant Services and Access Unit within the Office of Community Services.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Department of Research and Development of the County of Hawaii, Hawai‘i Friends of Civil Rights, The Legal Clinic, Hawai‘i Workers Center, Hawai‘i Children's Action Network Speaks!, Catholic Charities Hawaii, and eleven individuals. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Department of Human Services, Office of Language Access, Office of Community Services, and Hawai‘i Coalition for Immigrant Rights.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 439, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
