RELATING TO SELECTIVE SERVICE. Requires compliance with the federal Military Selective Service Act for an individual to enroll in a state-supported post-secondary educational institution; qualify for state financial assistance for post-secondary education; or be eligible for employment by or service for the State or any of its political subdivisions. Provides exceptions.

RELATING TO INCARCERATED WOMEN. Appropriates funds for the second year of a program to train incarcerated women to be general education development tutors for their peers, provide college correspondence courses for women in the women's community correctional center, and provide reentry and transition services for women wanting to continue their education post incarceration. Enables partnerships with the Department of Education, University of Hawaii, and Department of Public Safety. Appropriates moneys.

· The number of videoconference testifiers and/or time allotted to each testifier may be limited by the Chair when necessary to adhere to the committee hearing schedule. We may not be able to accommodate everyone who requests to testify remotely.
· Videoconference testifiers for this hearing will be limited to 2 minutes each.
