      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO MURDER.

Amends provisions relating to first degree murder.  Adds a person commits the offense of first degree murder if the person knowingly or intentionally causes the death of another person that is less than fourteen years old or pregnant with a viable fetus.  Adds a person commits the offense of first degree murder if the murder was especially heinous, atrocious, or cruel manifesting exceptional depravity.

RELATING TO UNLAWFUL CHOP SHOP ACTIVITY.

Establishes the criminal offenses of unlawful chop shop activity in the first and second degrees.  Provides for the forfeiture of property connected with chop shop activity.  Defines "chop shop."

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO ELECTRONIC EAVESDROPPING.

Amends provisions relating to electronic eavesdropping.  Requires law enforcement entities to obtain a search warrant before accessing a person's electronic communications in certain circumstances.  Amends notification requirements of a law enforcement entity's access to electronic communications to allow for discovery in criminal cases.

RELATING TO DATA COLLECTION.

Requires that the sexual orientation and gender identity of persons processed for crimes be included in the systems of identification.

RELATING TO THE SUNSHINE LAW.

Amends the sunshine law to exempt minors from being required to state their presence in public meetings.
