Establishes the Office of Homelessness and Housing Solutions and the Homelessness and Housing Solutions Special Fund.  Makes an appropriation.

RELATING TO HOMELESSNESS.

Establishes the long-term rental assistance pilot program to be administered by the Hawaii Public Housing Authority for individuals over sixty-two years old who are homeless, or at imminent risk of becoming homeless.  Appropriates funds.

Appropriates funds to the Hawaii Public Housing Authority for the State Rent Supplement Program.

RELATING TO HOMELESSNESS.

Extends ohana zones pilot program to 06/30/2028.  Appropriates funds for the continuation and stabilization of the program.  Establishes a permanent ohana zones program within the Department of Human Services upon expiration of the pilot program.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO THE HAWAII PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY.

Establishes the landlord incentive program special fund to reimburse land owners who participate in the section 8 housing choice voucher program for repair costs of tenant-caused property damage when the repair costs exceed the tenant's security deposit.  Makes an appropriation.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO HOMELESSNESS.

Requires the Hawaii housing finance and development corporation to establish the kauhale program to provide individual or shared micro housing units and services to homeless individuals and families who meet the definition of chronically homeless or are currently homeless.  Requires reports to the legislature.  Appropriates funds.
