RELATING TO SERVICE ANIMALS

Requires that a disclaimer be provided by sellers or providers of emotional support animals or certificates, identifications, tags, vests, leashes, and harnesses for emotional support animals that the animal is not a service animal. Establishes penalties.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO INSURANCE.

Prohibits health insurance companies from denying coverage on the basis of gender identity if the policy covers the treatment for purposes other than gender transition.  Requires insurance companies to provide applicants and insured persons with clear information about the coverage of gender transition services, including the process for appealing a claim denied on the basis of medical necessity.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO IN VITRO FERTILIZATION INSURANCE COVERAGE.

Removes discriminatory requirements for mandatory insurance coverage of in vitro fertilization procedures to create parity of coverage for same-sex couples, unmarried women, and male-female couples for whom male infertility is the relevant factor.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO FAMILY PLANNING.

Requires oocyte cryopreservation to be covered by health insurance policies.  Removes one-time benefit limitation for in vitro fertilization.  Reduces the number of years of infertility before becoming eligible for in vitro fertilization from five to two years.

RELATING TO FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS.

Exempts the sale of feminine hygiene products from the general excise tax.
