A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to internet services.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 269-40, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:
"§269-40
Access to advanced services. The commission shall ensure that all consumers
are provided with nondiscriminatory, reasonable, and equitable access to high
quality telecommunications network facilities and capabilities that provide
subscribers with sufficient network capacity to access information services,
including internet services, that provide a combination of voice, data,
image, and video[.], and are available at just, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory
uncapped rates that are based on reasonably identifiable costs of providing the
services."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
