Digital Inclusion Week in Hawaii
Digital Inclusion Week (DIW) in Hawai‘i kicks off today. DIW aims to raise awareness about digital equity. It also promotes digital inclusion by ensuring that all communities, including the most remote and disadvantaged, have access to and the ability to use information and communication technologies. Events are planned across the state.
This is the second consecutive year that DIW is being marked. During the 2022 Legislative Session, Sen. Misalucha successfully introduced SCR 25, officially recognizes DIW in Hawaii.
"As our society becomes increasingly digitized, we have a responsibility as state leaders to ensure that our communities not only have access to essential infrastructure, such as broadband, but also the knowledge to use these tools to their full capacity," said Sen. Misalucha.
