HDOT News Release: Kauai Lane Closures for the weekend of March 16 - March 18

PLEASE NOTE: Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

LIHUE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
24-hour turning lane closures on Kapule Highway in both directions at the Kaana Street intersection on Friday, March 16, through Friday, March 23, for concrete pavement repair. The left turns onto or from Kaana Street heading north on Kapule Highway will not be allowed during the lane restriction.

HDOT News Release: Turning Lane Restriction at the Kauai Veterans Memorial Highway and Kaana Street Intersection Begins On Monday, March 12

LIHUE – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Kauai motorists of a turning lane restriction at the intersection of Kauai Veterans Memorial Highway and Kaana Street in Lihue beginning on Monday, March 12, 2018, through Friday, March 23, 2018, 24-hours a day, for concrete pavement repair.

The left turns onto or from Kaana Street heading north on Kauai Veterans Memorial Highway will not be allowed during the lane restriction.

The through lanes at the Kauai Veterans Memorial Highway and Kaana Street intersection and the right-hand turn from Kaana Street onto the highway and makai of the highway will remain open to traffic.

Motorists are advised to use the Vidinha Stadium Access Road as an alternate route.

The speed limit through the construction zone will be reduced to 25 miles per hour from Rice Street to Ahukini Road for the safety of the workers and to allow the concrete to set properly. For a map of the closure please click here.

Motorists should expect traffic delays and drive with caution through the work zone area. Roadwork is weather permitting.

Changes to polling places in District Precincts 16-01 and 16-05

Dear President Kouchi:

This letter is to inform you of changes to polling places in your district for the 2018 Elections. The polling places for District Precinct (DP) 16-01 and DP 16-05 are being relocated back to the facilities used prior to the 2016 Elections.

Voters residing in DP 16-01 are now assigned to vote at Koloa Neighborhood Center, Meeting Room, located at:

Koloa Neighborhood Center
3461 Weliweli Road
Koloa, Hawaii 96756

Voters residing in DP 16-05 are now assigned to vote at Kekaha Neighborhood Center, Meeting Room, located at:

Kekaha Neighborhood Center
8130 Elepaio Road
Kekaha, Hawaii 96752

However, voters registered as a permanent absentee voter will continue to receive their ballot in the mail.
