Representative Nadine K. Nakamura serves House District 14, which includes the Kaua'i towns of Hanalei,
Princeville, Kilauea, Anahola, Kapa'a, and Wailua. She is the Chair of the Committee on Housing (HSG)
and a member of the Judiciary & Hawaiian Affairs (JHA) and Transportation Committees (TRN). She also
previously served as a Majority Whip in the House.
A 26-year resident of Kapa'a and former Managing Director for the County of Kaua'i, Representative
Nakamura has deep roots in her community. Mrs. Nakamura operated a planning consulting business for
twenty years before being elected to the Kaua'i County Council, where she served from 2010-2013.
(Throughout her career in public service, she has worked hand in hand with Kaua'i residents to advance
the Garden Island's prosperity and to build a better future for the island's keiki.)
Representative Nakamura holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs and Urban Planning from the
University of Southern California. She obtained a Master's Degree in Urban and Regional planning from the
University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
