Currently in his third term in the State House of Representatives, Denny Coffman represents District 5 on Hawaii Island, serving parts of North Kona, South Kona, and Ka'u.
With a wide variety of professional skills ranging from real estate consultation, to running a successful small business, to working in the telecommunications industry, Representative Coffman has a well rounded background in business. In addition to his business credentials, Representative Coffman also has a passion for environmental issues. As former Chair and current member of the Energy and Environmental Protection Committee, Representative Coffman has been a steadfast advocate for a more sustainable future. He is committed to developing sound, balanced policy to incorporate more indigenous, commercially available, and renewable energy resources throughout the state without damaging the financial well-being of our island citizens.
Representative Coffman attended Coleman College in San Diego, California and obtained an Associate Degree in Data Processing. He is also a graduate of National University in San Diego, California with a BA in Business administration. He has served in the US Army as a Specialist E4 with European NATO assignments. Denny has been married to Bonnie for over 44 years, and is the father of Amy Coffman Fields (BS Nursing), and Katie Coffman (BA Psychology, MA Architecture).
