Linda Ann Ha'i Clark is now serving as Representative for District 13 which includes Hā'iku, Hāna, Kaupō,
Kīpahulu, Nāhiku, Pā‘ia, Kaho‘olawe, Lāna‘i, Moloka‘i, and Molokini. She was appointed by Governor
David Ige after the seat became vacant in June of 2021 when Ige appointed former state Rep. Lynn DeCoite
to the Senate to succeed J. Kalani English. Clark will serve the remainder of DeCoite’s term, which is
set to expire in November 2022.
Clark was raised on a cattle ranch and is a married mother of four grown children and grandmother of
three. She spent much of her career as an independent process server for the Child Support Enforcement
Agency and has served as president of the Kaupo Community Association Inc. for the last 8 years.
Here is what some constituents wanted to share about her:
"Linda Clark is always available to work hard and willing to study and learn new skills in order to
accomplish anything. I am proud to be her friend and neighbor."
"She has a good grasp of rural issues that impact her district. She will represent all of Hawaii in
her policy decisions."
"I have found her to be honest, fair, and steadfast. Her guidance as President of the Kaupo
Community Association has brought Kaupo into the 21st century while still respecting the ways of
our old-fashioned community. She worked legislatively and administratively to gain a $975,000
State GIA grant to restore the school building, and a $475,000 County EO grant to provide
off-grid water, power and wastewater infrastructure in this remote location. She managed this
project and got the work done. This was an enormous and unique accomplishment. The center is
ready for use and has already been available for food distributions and health programs."
"Rep. Clark is an active listener and will take time out of her busy day to hear our concerns.
She will intercede for us and will be a voice at the Capitol for us."
"She is committed to our community’s needs. She can relate to the way we live and the struggles
we experience because she is one of us."
