Representative Romy M. Cachola represents District 30 which is composed of Sand Island, Mokauea, Kapalama, and Kalihi Kai on the Island of Oahu. Representative Cachola was first elected to the Legislature in 1984 where he served for 16 years until he was elected to the Honolulu City Council. After serving 10 years as a Councilmember, he was elected to serve as State Representative of District 30 in 2010. He is currently Chair of the Special Committee to Address Unfunded Liability and Vice-Chair of the Committee on Tourism.
He was born in the Province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines and attained a Bachelor of Law (Juris Doctor), M.L. from Quezon University. He has been a resident of Hawaii since 1971.
