     Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred S.B. No. 1294, S.D. 2, H.D. 1, entitled:

 

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO MEDICAID BENEFITS,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this measure is to appropriate funds to restore basic diagnostic, preventive, and restorative dental benefits for adult Medicaid enrollees.

 

     Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, State Council on Developmental Disabilities, AARP Hawaii, Hoōla Lāhui Hawaii, Hawaii Medical Service Association, Hawaii Health & Harm Reduction Center, Hawaii Disability Rights Center, Hawaii Association of Health Plans, Health Committee of the Democratic Party of Hawaii, Americans for Democratic Action, Hawaii Children's Action Network Speaks!, United Healthcare, Papa Ola Lōkahi, Catholic Charities Hawaii, Hawaii Medical Association, The Queen's Health Systems, Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, Hawaii Dental Association, Hawaii Section of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Hawaii Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii, and numerous individuals.  Your Committee received testimony in opposition to this measure from one individual.  Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Department of Human Services, Department of Budget and Finance, Executive Office on Aging, Ohana Health Plan, Progressive Democrats of Hawaii, Hawaii Primary Care Association, West Hawaii Community Health Center, Hawaii Oral Health Coalition, AlohaCare, Oral Health Progress and Equity Network, Kōkua Kalihi Valley Comprehensive Family Services, and two individuals.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 1294, S.D. 2, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
