Status

RELATING TO PUBLIC LANDS.

Exempts land set aside by the Governor to the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation and lands leased to the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation from other State departments or agencies from classification as public land subject to Department of Land and Natural Resources management.  Requires said land to be subject to legislative approval prior to the sale or gift of those lands.  Requires the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation to return any leased lands no longer needed for housing, finance or development under Chapter 201H, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

Status

RELATING TO HOUSING.

Authorizes the counties to reclassify lands 15 to 100 acres in certain rural, urban, and agricultural districts in which at least 50 percent of the housing units on the land sought to be reclassified are set aside for persons and families with incomes at or below 140 percent of the area median income.

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may not be processed.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.

 

The chair may institute a per-testifier time limit.

 

Committees meeting in the morning must adjourn prior to the day's Floor Session.  Therefore, due to time constraints, not all testifiers may be able to testify.  However, all written submissions will be considered by the committee.

 

Please refrain from profanity or uncivil behavior.  Violations may result in ejection from the hearing without the ability to rejoin.

 

The House will not be responsible for bad connections on the testifier's end.
