A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to education.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. (a) The department of education shall develop a reorganization plan to provide students and schools with centralized food and transportation services. The plan shall require that all schools provide students with locally produced food. The provision of locally produced food shall increase       per cent annually until 2026.

(b) The department of education shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations relating to the reorganization plan, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2022.

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
