A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO TELECOMMUNICATION.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  (a)  The office of enterprise technology services shall conduct a study to identify appropriate state office buildings able to provide equitable telecommunication access to allow residents and residents with disabilities to remotely participate in legislative hearings for the following areas:

     (1)  The county of Hawaii;

     (2)  The county of Kauai;

     (3)  The county of Maui; and

     (4)  Rural areas in the City and County of Honolulu.

     (b)  The office of enterprise technology services shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2022.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
