Status

RELATING TO STANDARDIZED TESTING.

Requires each complex area superintendent to submit an annual report to the Board of Education on the number of standardized tests required for each school within the complex area and the amount of instructional time devoted to such tests.  Requires the Board of Education to inform students and their parents or guardians of ability to opt out of standardized tests.  Removes standardized test results as an evaluation metric on performance reviews for teachers or educational officers.

Status

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Establishes within the Department of Education a Workforce Readiness Program to provide opportunities for students to earn associate degrees, workforce development diplomas, pre-apprenticeship certificates, and other industry-recognized certificates.  Requires the department to designate schools, including adult community schools, to participate in the program.  Appropriates funds.

Status

RELATING TO TAX CREDIT FOR ON-SITE EARLY CHILDHOOD FACILITIES.

Establishes an income tax credit for employers who create on-site early childhood facilities. Establishes and appropriates funds for 1.0 FTE on-site early childhood facility coordinator position.  Applies to taxable years beginning after 12/31/2020.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·    Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·    The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·    The date and time of the hearing; and

·    Measure number.

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
